Meet Juliet Cooper
Founder of Restorative Pilates UK
Juliet has spent over a decade working in 1:1 clinical movement therapy within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Her practice is far removed from open group fitness classes; instead, she provides long-term, progressive condition management for persistent back pain, structural wear, hypermobility (EDS), and neurological conditions.
Operating as a bridge in the healthcare landscape, Juliet steps in to provide the permanent supervised maintenance container after acute medical interventions conclude.
Believing that Joseph Pilates would continuously update his methods with modern biomechanical research, Juliet integrates precise, assessment-led Pilates with gentle neuromuscular therapy. By incorporating the Emmett Technique, she applies light touch to trigger deep neuromuscular relaxation, calming hypervigilance without causing structural collapse.
Her commitment to a responsive, deeply individualised partnership has fostered unmatched client trust, with a strong core of her clinical catchment training weekly with her for years as part of a lifetime commitment to health and mobility.
Joseph Pilates was characteristically direct about the relationship between spinal health and vitality. His most famous quote on the subject is:
"If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old; if it is completely flexible at 60, you are young."
